Hi there, I'm Mia
I work as a Project manager. A parent. An expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat journeys, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something much larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Gradually, routines began to take shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Pixel Valley Lab
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Switzerland continues, along with the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
